Most of the Startup Wizard settings that require your attention are self-explanatory. If something doesn’t make sense, you can reference the video below and follow along for proper setup.
Auto-check for updates
This doesn’t affect the NVR since updates are cloud-based, and we are not currently utilizing a cloud service since it would require the customer to pay a monthly fee. We host our Updates on the Firmware Downloads under the Downloads page.
The region, Language, and Video Standard
Adjust as necessary for the Region and Language settings, for Video Standard make sure to swap it from PAL to NTSC.
Date & Time and DST (Daylight Saving Time)
Set your time zone first, then set the time. Adjust the DST (Daylight Savings Time) to match your local rules, the typical setup I would recommend that you set up DST like this:
Type: Week –
Start Time: March > 2nd> Sun > 02:00
End Time: Nov > 1st > Sun > 02:00
This is the Recommended DST unless your state does not follow typical DST Standards.
Password, Email, and Security Questions
Here you will make an 8 Digit password with two of the requirements for caps lock, numerical digits, and/or symbols. Write this password down since the only way to retrieve it is when you add it to the app locally, otherwise, you would need to factory reset all devices.
Set up your preferred email and set up security questions that you will also write down somewhere safe if they need to be referenced in the future.
TCP/IP
If your NVR is connected to your router you will see an IP Address other than 192.168.1.108. Recheck your connections if you see that IP when it’s connected to the router. Make sure to enable Enable DHCP here, unless you have a complicated network the rest of the default settings are fine.
P2P
A P2P (Peer to Peer) connection is how you’ll connect to your system remotely. The right QR code is your NVR serial number, and the left QR code is a link to our mobile app. Make sure to download MontavueGO 2.0
Camera Registration/List
The top list is cameras that can be added that are on your local network, if you have them plugged directly into the NVR they should show up on the bottom list without any need for additional setup.
Recording Schedule
By default, your NVR will be set to record 24/7. Disk Manager shows the hard drives you have installed and there is no additional setup.
