Dynamic Domain Name Service (DDNS) for your NVR or IP camera

Dynamic Domain Name Service (DDNS) for your NVR or IP camera

DDNS Setup

DDNS stands for Dynamic Domain Name System. The main advantage of DDNS is that it allows you to use a static hostname in place of the ever-changing IP address that most internet service providers give you. The DDNS service will keep track of your dynamic IP address and update the hostname automatically.

Prerequisites

  1. The device must be connected to the Internet, and the ports must be forwarded. Please see IP Port Forwarding to learn how to forward your ports if you haven’t done so.
  2. Please confirm Internet access port is open and default port to open is: 80, 554,37777. If you didn’t use default ports, make sure to use your updated ports instead.
  3. Current registered DDNS. Our NVRs currently only support DDNSs from NO-IP, Dyndns, CN99
  4. Please keep the tag of the device’s MAC address. Do not lose or destroy it.

Step by Step Instructions to set up your DDNS

  1. Check and ensure your ports are open on your network by going to canyouseeme.org and typing in 80 and 37777 which are default ports. Ensure they are open and success is shown.
